Vietnam - Yen Bai Province hit by Typhoon Yagi
On Sunday September 9, Typhoon Yagi made a violent impact on the coastal provinces of northern Vietnam. The storm then spread throughout the north of the country until the morning of September 10, including the mountainous regions of Yen Bai where we carried out a mission at the end of 2023. The Commune of Ban Mu, where we will be starting a project in the Khau Ly school in 2025, was cruelly hit. Roads and many buildings have been damaged or destroyed. Villages in the Commune were isolated from each other for several days due to landslides. Pupils from the Khau Ly school were stranded at home and unable to attend school until early October. On September 25 and 26, Florence, Annie-Claude and Tulip, members of the Sourires d'Enfants Board of Directors, visited the site and saw the damage and traces of the mudslides.
