Victoire Nguyen-Rouault and Anh Tuyet Nguyen carried out this mission from November 6 to 18 in three districts of Yen Bai Province. They were received by the provincial authorities to define objectives and priorities for action. They visited several nursery, primary and secondary schools in Tam Trau, Mu Cang Chai and Yen Binh. The villages are inhabited by several ethnic groups, mainly H'mong families. A number of areas of intervention are beginning to take shape: we can support the schools by opening or reinforcing canteens, fitting out dormitories, rehabilitating toilets and installing drinking water systems, as well as supporting vocational training programs. We are now going to work on the basis of all the data we have collected and define precisely our actions for the coming years.
